The exhibition of the lion and the mountain

Museo di Scultura Antica Giovanni Barracco
Corso Vittorio Emanuele II, 166 - Roma
From the 04/10/19 to the 19/01/20
There will be exhibits that leave Sudan for the first time and come from the excavation of the ancient city of Napata, one of the most important archaeological sites in the entire country. The objects will accompany the visitor to discover a world still little known and a culture that acts as a bridge between Africa, Egypt and the Mediterranean.
Next to the original finds, material casts will be presented, some of which are of particular importance because they reproduce fragile objects that have been lost due to a violent flood. Among the methods of presentation to the public, some 3D reconstructions will allow to have a particularly accurate graphic rendering of architectural structures and objects of greater importance
